He also received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Library and Information Science in 1998 and 2001 respectively. He is an independent information consultant, specializing in journal indexing, information representation and retrieval, knowledge organization, metadata, information management, taxonomies, thesaurus design and construction. His research interests include the World Wide Web, information representation and retrieval (indexing and abstracting), knowledge organization (metadata, cataloging, and classification), information consulting, information marketing, bibliometrics, informetrics, scientometrics, altmetrics, open access (OA) and so on.

Prof. Ronald Rousseau

He obtained his doctorate in mathematics at the KU Leuven in 1977 and his doctorate in documentation and library science at the University of Antwerp in 1992. He has focused his research on the development and use of indicators to measure the quality of research and main trends in science. He is an expert in citation analysis and research evaluation. He has published more than 300 scientific papers on various aspects of citation analysis, bibliometrics, and scientometrics in journals such as Scientometrics, Journal of Informetrics, Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, Malaysian Journal of Library and Information Science, and Journal of Data and Information Science. He is considered to be one of the most productive authors in this field. He, along with Leo Egghe, received the Derek de Solla Price award in 2001. From 2007 till 2015, he was the seventh chairperson of ISSI. In 2015 he became co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Data and Information Science. He publishes in the areas of information science, informetrics, bibliometrics, scientometrics, citation analysis, citation curves, citation data, citation generations, citation graphs, co-authorship, collaboration, publications, g-index, h-index, impact factor, information analysis, mathematical models, research evaluation, etc.

He is an Associate Professor in Information Management & Records at Kastamonu University, Turkey. He teaches technology-oriented courses in the information management department. He received his Ph.D. from the Information Management Department (iSchool) with a dissertation on "Diffusion of nanotechnology in Turkey: A social network analysis approach" at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. His research interests include digital humanities, digital libraries, scientometrics, and bibliometrics. Previously, he taught programming courses in the Computer Science Department at Cankaya University, the Economic Department at TOBB University, and Bilkent University, all in Ankara, Turkey.
